- Abstract
The article discusses the three strategies in developing strategic readers. It is claimed that through the use of these questioning techniques, student can learn to think more deeply about the topics. One strategy is called the Question-Answer-Relationship, considered as a method for teaching questioning as a reading strategy. The strategy allegedly engages students in the questioning process and teaches students that questions often require different sources of information. Another is the Wonder Notebook strategy, reputed to be useful for sparking students' curiosity and questioning skills. To apply this strategy, the teacher must first share her own question. The last is the Reciprocal Questioning, which allegedly engages students in questioning with the teacher during discussion.
