In this article, the author reflects on the theory of self-interest according to the "Book of Ruth," a book of the Old Testament. He states that self-interest of the characters in the book can be considered as holy acts of subversive justice. He discusses the self-interested motives of Biblical figures Ruth and Naomi. He further opines that self-interest of the characters in the book may lead to justice if it is not always selfish.
