- Abstract
Double random phase encoding (DRPE) is one of the most classic methods in optical image encryption. Since the linear property of DRPE makes the encryption system based on DRPE vulnerable to attacks, the researchers have introduced the scrambling and diffusion structure on the basis of DRPE. However, it is found in this study that the added scrambling and diffusion operations cannot destroy the linear property of DRPE totally, and there are still some security holes. This paper proposes an attack scheme for a class of the DRPE encryption systems based on scrambling and diffusion, and reveals the equivalent encryption methods to the original cryptosystems. The experimental results show that the structural similarity index measure and correlation coefficient index of the plaintext image and original image recovered by the attack method are close to 1. The effectiveness of the scheme is proved by mathematical analysis and experimental results.
