- Abstract
The article presents a study on the noise exposure of construction workers in Spain. Noise is considered the most persistent physical contaminant and its effects can lead to physical, psychic and social deterioration. The European Union Directive 2003/10/CE and the Royal Decree 286/2006 in Spain include noise exposure limits. The study found that most of the workers suffer a daily noise exposure exceeding 80 decibels and recommended to develop a noise management procedure to reduce the problem.
