- Abstract
The article discusses a research on a multimodal approach to treatment of of subclavian vein effort thrombosis. The surgical approach consists of catheter directed lyric therapy, followed immediately by infraclavicular trans-sternal first-rib resection and open repair of the subclavian vein with saphenous venoplasty closure. After the operation, patients took warfarin anticoagulation. Follow-up questionnaires revealed that arm function in 81% of the patients returned to normal, while three patients reported slightly limited arm function.
