- Abstract
The article presents how the Garrick Professor of Law chair at the Thomas Charles Beirne School of Law at the University of Queensland was established. It states that Katherine Cecie Garrick set up a bequest to endow a professorship in honor of her father James Francis Garrick, the fifth solicitor to be admitted in Queensland and a former Agent-General for immigration in London. Information on Garrick and the professors who held the chair including Francis William Sutton Cumbrae-Stewart, Robert Yorke Hedges and Alec Dougleas McGill are also provided.
