- Abstract
This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, explores the relationship between the size of aortic aneurysms (AA) and characteristics of the cent pulse wave in hypertensive patients. The study included 143 hypertensive patients with thoracic and/or abdominal AA, divided into a "large AA" group and a "small AA" group. The results showed that patients with larger AA had lower central pulse wave amplitude and pulse pressure amplification (PPA) compared to those with smaller AA. Additionally, the study found a negative correlation between aortic diameter and carotid-femoral pulse wave velocity (PWV), and a positive association between AA diameter and PPA. The findings suggest that larger AA size can lead to unfavorable hemodynamic effects on the central arteries and the heart.
