AMCD BY-LAWS.
- Abstract
This article presents the by-laws of the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development (AMCD). These revised By-Laws were approved by the membership of the AMCD in 1986. Section 1 of the By-Laws states that the official name of this organization shall be the Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development. Section 4 states that the purpose of the Association shall be as follows: to promote a greater understanding of ethnic minority groups among members of the counseling and development professions, to improve standards and delivery of counseling and development services provided to ethnic minority groups, to identify and work to eliminate conditions that create barriers to the individual development of ethnic minority groups, and to develop, implement and foster interest in charitable, scientific, and educational programs designed to further the interest of ethnic minority groups, and to secure equality of treatment, advancement, qualifications, and status of ethnic minorities in counseling and development work.
