- Title
Development: The origins of interneuron diversity.
- Authors
Whalley, Katherine
- Abstract
The article explores the study "Physiologically Distinct Temporal Cohorts of Cortical Interneurons Arise from Telencephalic Olig-2-Expressing Precursors," by G. Fishell and colleagues. In this paper, researchers examine the origins of interneuron diversity during development to highlight the importance of its birth order in establishing its physiological properties. They suggest that the birth date of an interneuron has significant impact on its physiological and molecular properties.
