- Abstract
Water pollution with various pesticides, organic compounds, metals and microorganisms is the main link in environmental pollution. The monitoring of the quality, number, and type of pollutants present in the water is necessary to reduce the negative impact on the environment. The main cause of changes in water quality and the source of environmental pollution with various toxic pollutants is primarily the development of urbanism, the growth of industry and other modern anthropogenic factors. Polluted waters have a direct impact on agricultural activity, the consequence of the use of polluted waters in agriculture leads to flow and accumulation of various toxic compounds in surface and underground waters. Chemical elements that are most often found in water can significantly endanger the environment by increasing their concentrations, however the analysis of chemical parameters shows the current real state of a particular water biotope, while bioindicators are also used to analyze complete impact on the living world. The combination of both methods gives complete results. Biological methods are used to monitor changes in plants, bacteria, insects and other indicator species, as the presence of pollutants is clearly demonstrated. The use of bioindicators or different physico-chemical methods enable the monitoring of particle concentrations in water. Polluted waters have a direct impact on agricultural activity. Plants show the presence of certain polluting particles in water as changes on a morphological and physiological level. The use of bioindicators in detecting water and environmental pollution is extremely large.
