- Abstract
Objective: to identify the conceptions of undergraduate nursing students and professors about nursing education related to mental health education. Methods: qualitative, descriptive and exploratory study, carried out with 20 students and 10 professors from two undergraduate courses in Nursing at Higher Education Institutions. The collection of information took place through semi-structured interviews and the data analyzed according to thematic content analysis. Results: students and professors perceive the training of nurses expanded in which there was a predominance of active and problematizing teaching-learning methodologies. The challenges presented for training is the fact that the practices occur in a fragmented network, with access problems and scarcity of human and material resources. Final considerations: undergraduate nursing courses need to be articulated in an integrated way with management, services and health teams, in order to think and act collectively.
