- Title
A false sense of security.
- Authors
Rossner, Mike
- Abstract
The author expresses views on a false sense of security in the research community being created by some journals that are using ineffective software to screen images for manipulation. He cites an automated image screening service using a program called Rigour offered by publisher services provider Cadmus Communications. Also mentioned are some improvements made to the Cadmus screening tool. He stresses the need for journal editors to not rely on an automated method for image screening unless they know it is as effective as the visual method.
