- Abstract
Rapid developments in information and communication Technologies reveal new types of literacy as they change definition of literacy. One of these types of literacy is information literacy. Information literacy is generally defined as knowing how to Access information, using it in an inappropriateway, restructing it and sharing it ethically. It is necessary to include information literacy skills in these programs when it is considered that the curriculum should be up to date and the needs of the students are in accordance with their needs. Thus the information literacy skills contained in the curriculum have been dealt with in this study while providing the data to the study it is based on theinformationskillsthat is preparedbyAmerican Library Assocation and the booklet downloaded fromt he internet, called "Information Literacy Competency Standarts for Higher Education" and the explanations of the 2017 Turkish Curriculum, primary school achievements and secondary school achievements is examined in accordance with the skills set out in this booklet. Findings and interpretations are given in table form under the heading of eachsub-problem. As a result, it seems that the program is weak in terms of asquiringinf ormation literacy skills and needs to be developed.
