- Abstract
The article presents the results of the Motivational Interviewing training with probation and officers. Topics of discussion includes MI equips probation and parole officers with skills to reduce discord in the relationship with clients, It includes clients lacking engagement in the change process, feeling defensive, or being oppositional. By using active listening skills officers develop an interpersonal environment fostering rapport and effective supervision.
