- Abstract
Two major systems of copyright and related rights have been enforced internationally. These are the conventional or continental system governed by the Berne Convention and the unconventional system known as copyright system. Governed by the conventional system, the French law has an important place both in its creation and extension, which is why in the following report we will refer to some aspects of copyright protection, designed to allow a comparison between the two major systems. The similarity of the Romanian legislation with the French one does not require a detailed analysis of French law, that is why we insist only on those issues that have generated conflicting opinions in the literature. And for a better understanding of the differences between the two great systems of protection of copyright we will also refer to other national legislation.
