- Authors
Brown, Stephen P. A.; Huntington, Hillard G.
- Abstract
The article examines the costs of U.S. oil conservation by using parameters of five world oil models from a recent Energy Modeling Forum study. It describes an analytical framework which provides multiple estimates of U.S. oil conservation's effects on prices and quantities on the world oil market. It explains five models of the world oil market in the eleventh Energy Modeling Forum study to provide the parameters for an analysis of the costs of oil conservation. The article also examines the impact of supply from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) on U.S. oil conservation.
