'Maturity and Methodology': A Personal Reflection.
- Authors
Macrory, Richard
- Abstract
This article provides a review of an article published within the same issue that is concerned with the state of environmental law scholarship and particularly how scholars within environmental legislation and regulation view the topic. The author provides a personal account of having worked as a professor of environmental law within Great Britain and relates that experience to an understanding of difficulties facing younger academics within the field. A debate between Professor David Williams of Cambridge University and Professor Patrick McAuslan of the University of Warwick is referenced as a formative occurrence wherein attention was brought to the ambiguity of environmental law scholarship. The author also examines international precedent.
