- Abstract
To identify the use of screening instruments for Autistic Spectrum Disorder by nurses in childcare consultations. An integrative review carried out in the databases: LILACS, SciELO, PubMed, CAPES and MEDLINE Journal Portal in April 2019. Of the 112 articles found, only four met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study. These studies were published in 2014 and 2015, in Brazil, Israel and two in the United States, being an exploratory study, a field research, a literary study and a cohort study. Nurses recognize their role in assisting children with autism spectrum disorder and the importance of early screening, but not all use screening tools in primary health care. Studies warn of difficulties in identifying signs and symptoms and the use and implementation of screening instruments in healthcare practice.
