- Abstract
This article focuses on the Ogallala Aquifer, located in Ogallala, Nebraska and the problem on the decline in its groundwater storage. According to Nolan Clark, an agricultural engineer and director of the U.S. Agricultural Research Service's Conservation and Production Research Laboratory, they need to develop new science and technology to make prevent groundwater decline at the Ogallala Aquifer. The crisis of groundwater decline for the Ogallala region has been exacerbated by the rising cost of energy needed to pump water from the aquifer.
