- Abstract
The book "Sustainable Economic Geography" by Ingo Liefner and Sebastian Losacker provides a comprehensive overview of economic geographical approaches to promoting sustainable economic practices. It covers topics such as climate protection, resource conservation, emissions reduction, and biodiversity promotion. The book also addresses regional differences, technology and innovation, theories and methods for transition, as well as the challenges of sustainable regional economic development. The authors ask critical questions about the presented concepts and question common economic assumptions. The book is easily readable and suitable for beginners, advanced learners, and those interested in spatial research and spatial planning. It includes numerous tables and graphics to illustrate the text. Possible shorter versions for students and an English-language version of the book are also mentioned. The authors also question post-growth theories but emphasize that this would be a different textbook.
