- Abstract
This article explores the intersection of digital human rights and artificial intelligence (AI). It discusses concerns raised by organizations and developers regarding potential threats to human rights posed by AI, such as online disinformation and censorship. The article emphasizes the need for strong human rights-based standards in the development and use of AI tools, addressing issues like discrimination, privacy, and the impact on democracy. International organizations and forums are actively working on regulating AI and promoting a human-centered approach to digital cooperation. The text also mentions the development of new digital rights and the drafting of a convention on AI and human rights. The European Union has proposed the Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA) to address risks and protect fundamental rights, but civil society organizations are calling for amendments to strengthen its impact. The article concludes by highlighting the importance of robust action and international cooperation in protecting digital human rights.
