- Abstract
* From the evidence we have available, the ESP block should be considered an alternative analgesic option for patients with acute or chornic pain of the trunk * Most of the favourable data for the ESP block relies on its use as part of a multimodal analgesic package, and this should be considered when planning a patient's care. * Further research needs to be conducted to determine its true effectiveness compared with other regional techniques as well as optimal dosing regimens.
