- Abstract
The subject of this article is the study of the educational principles of Antonio Gramsci (1891-1937), whose main objective is to analyze his contribution to the educational process. His theory is based on Marxist thought, which considers the material and historical origins present in the class struggle related to an antagonistic view emphasizing the valorization of the dispute of the struggles of the proletarian class against bourgeois exploitation. Its educational proposal is the unitary school, in which everyone would have the same training and teaching would lead students to a degree of autonomy and knowledge, making them with a historical and political awareness present in the world of work and social life. Reflecting on the consequences of Marxism, Gramsci emphasizes that society becomes an agent of its own transformation, imposing the hegemonic question, a fundamental concept in his thinking. It is concluded that education in this process becomes primordial in Antonio Gramsci's philosophy, identifying the structure by which society is organized, mediating strategies that facilitate the identification of limits and inequalities present in our society. Therefore, Gramsci relates to Marxist theory in the search for transformative praxis, making his ideas based on the formation of a society whose theoretical and practical struggles seek to create a new philosophical and political thought capable of favoring the overcoming of both power and domination of the capitalist world.
