- Title
JRS Forum: Women in Radio.
- Abstract
The article presents a discussion on the role of women in radio broadcasting services. In the current context, women are actively participating in radio broadcasting services. Radio has many attractive qualities for work-minded women. Women have a natural instinct to serve; it stems from their natural instinct to nurture. The radio industry lends itself to satisfying that urge. Radio broadcasting branches into helping charities, communities, or individuals. Radio also offers opportunity and flexibility. Radio has been a male-dominated industry from its inception, but women have made huge strides in the medium in the past couple of decades, and it is a better profession for their presence. Women are most present in sales positions where they have significantly contributed to the ever growing annual take of the national and local advertising dollar. At a time when radio's fortunes appear on the wane due to the ever-increasing number of listening options, the unique talents and skills women bring to the medium are needed more than ever.
