- Abstract
The article reports on the decision of the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) to cancel the trademarks of the Washington Redskins football team and the action filed by Pro-Football Inc., owner of the cancelled trademarks, in the District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia to overturn the decision. Topics discussed include the legal issues on the use of Native American names as athletic team nicknames and mascots and the demonstrations that called the team to change its name.
