- Title
IMPERIAL HERESIES: POLISH STUDENTS IN THE SOVIET UNION, 1948-1957.
- Authors
Babiracki, Patryk
- Abstract
The article focuses on the outcome of the deployment of Polish students in the Soviet Union for training and education in 1948-1957. It states that the conflicting expectations from the new empire comprised a major source of tensions between students, communist bureaucrats and government officials in both countries. Moreover, it is mentioned that some students were often driven by purely personal objectives that had little to do with the communists' broader ideological agenda.
