- Abstract
For the development of its activities and the modernization of its infrastructures, in order to offer a better academic environment to its students and professors, the leaders of Université Laval decided to found a new campus in 1945. This project to move the Université from its small buildings of Vieux-Québec to a large modern campus in the suburb of the ville de Québec constituted an action taken by the Catholic church and contributed to the modernization of the Québec society. Moreover, the campus had an impact on the land planning and the economic development of the ville de Québec.
