- Authors
Kulikov, Viktor P.
- Abstract
The article discusses the use of the fighter aircraft, Bell P-39 Airacobra by the American allies, particularly the Soviet Union during the World War II. This aircraft was the most popular plane imported and used in the successful battles by Soviet airmen including Aleksandr I. Pokryshkin and his pilots. It was provided by the U.S. to the Soviet Union through Lend-Lease. The Bell P-63 Kingcobra was developed from the P-39 Airacobra in an attempt to correct the deficiencies of the aircraft.
