- Abstract
This article discusses a case study of an 18-year-old male who presented with lower abdominal pain, fever, and a distended abdomen. Imaging revealed acute appendicitis with an associated pelvic abscess. Due to the challenges of imaging-guided abscess drainage, the authors pursued endoscopic ultrasound (EUS)-guided drainage. A lumen-apposing metal stent (LAMS) was placed, and after one month, complete abscess resolution was observed. The patient remained asymptomatic with no evidence of abscess recurrence after three months. The article highlights the technical safety and favorable outcomes of EUS-guided pelvic abscess drainage, which is a minimally invasive alternative to surgical drainage.
