- Abstract
The article discusses the developments in the diagnosis and treatment of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). It cites that previous studies have identified a number of consistent prognostic factors for AML, which include age, karyotype and molecular abnormalities. It tackles the role of maintenance therapy in AML, the management of AML in elderly patients and the application of stem cell transplantation (SCT) for early consolidation therapy in patients with AML in first remission.
