- Abstract
The article presents a study on older adults' attitude and beliefs regarding wellness, self-care, and participation in a health care promotion activities in the U.S. It explores the six focus groups of 45 men and women from 62 to 91 years old, which was being introduced by a White Crane Model of Healthy Lives for Older Adults. It highlights that being healthy has been incorporated with multiple components such as functional independence, self-care, and illness management, positive outlook, personal growth, and social contribution were the focus on the model. In addition, being healthy will be determined by self-evaluation in physical, social, and emotional environment and development.
