- Abstract
This article discusses a case report of a patient with a right aortic arch who underwent thyroid surgery. The patient had a history of aortic arch malformations and presented with a thyroid tumor. Preoperative imaging and continuous intraoperative nerve monitoring were used to determine the course of the recurrent inferior laryngeal nerve (RILN) and ensure safe surgery. The left inferior laryngeal nerve was confirmed to be the RILN, and the surgery was successful without complications. The article emphasizes the importance of special attention and monitoring in patients with aortic arch malformations during thyroid surgery.
