Abstract
The author discusses the use of nanotechnology and nanoparticles in food and consumer products, arguing that research should asses the potential toxicological hazards of nanoparticles and describing research concerning nanoparticles in sunscreens conducted by the British analysis company Laboratory of the Government Chemist (LGC). Topics include risk assessment and regulations from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
