The article discusses the need for Canada and other jurisdictions to review and revise their existing generic Selenium drinking water quality guideline (DWQG). It mentions that revising and reviewing DWQG, it must be based on the toxicological and epidemiological data that have been generated since the values were developed. It cites the use of a risk-based approach in the interim, site-specific, human health-based objectives for Se in drinking water.
