- Abstract
This article discusses the concepts of imperialism, empire, and the indigenous peoples, highlighted in historical documents written by the Jesuits from colonial Mexico. The author comments on the relations between the Mexican government and the indigenous population and describes the work of the Jesuits in the region during this period.
