- Authors
Haun, R. R.
- Abstract
The article cites a study on students reactions to high school science in the U.S. In early 1956, decline in student enrollments in science courses became so numerous that a general public concern was evidenced. A pilot study of one small section was made by asking high school and college students to give their reactions to science. Several groups of students were used for this study in order to obtain a variety of backgrounds and major interests. Most of these students deny that their high school science teachers are poor teachers. The study concludes that a very high percentage of high school and college students perceive that the study science is valuable, interesting and important for all students.
