- Abstract
The article focuses on a study that was aimed at generating science program for elementary schools in the United States which can help in realizing the objectives of science education. In the study, five most widely used science textbook series were included. At the initial level, the broader classification of content made in the books was determined. The next level determined the degree of agreement related to the topics discussed in each area at each grade level. The study showed that there was a greater degree of variation in the grade placement of the concept than in actual concept presentation. The study deduced that the content of the textbooks was descriptive in nature.
