- Abstract
The article reports on a research project by Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences in Mðnchengladbach in Germany, which aims to create a three-dimensional (3D) computer simulation of woven fabrics. The researchers used computer simulation software from Mechanical Desktop of Autodesk GmbH and additional software modules supported by Visual Lisp. Problems in creating 3D simulation of woven fabrics are discussed. Approaches to determining the feasibility of 3D simulation of fabrics are also discussed. Factors affecting the feasibility of 3D imaging are presented.
