Kant's Conception of the Subject.
- Authors
Molina, Eduardo
- Abstract
The article discusses the writing of German philosopher Immanuel Kant, author of books such as "The Critique of Pure Reason". It talks about how Kant differentiates between soul and subject. The article argues this postulate of immortality of the soul requires us to conceive the subject as permanent, identical and real. It goes on to develop the issue and find an idea of the soul or subject that runs through notions of transcendental apperception and self-consciousness.
