- Title
THE SPEAKER'S STAND.
- Authors
White, Melvin R.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the significance of lectern among the speakers during the speech delivery. It could be noted that the lectern is a handy post where necessary notes are being placed. It is considered to be a repository of a speech outline to which the speaker may refer if needed. Secondly, it is useful in paragraphing the talk of the speaker specially if he feels a bit tense. It contends that too much running is sometimes distracting. It has been suggested that the stand should be treated as a helpful device, not as a liability to the speaker and audience.
