- Abstract
The article reports on the acquisition of India-based textile company Gokaldas Exports by Blackstone Group. The private equity firm will acquire a 70 percent stake in Gokaldas through a two-step deal, in which 50 percent will come from the Hinduja family in Bangalore and 20 percent through an open offer to other shareholders. Gokaldas' share price has been decreased from 350 to 275 rupees since the Indian currency started appreciating. Blackstone was attracted by the growth potential of the textile exporter.
