- Abstract
The article discusses ocean nourishment concepts to increase fishing effectiveness. Ocean Nourishment has been defined in 1997 as the concept of supplementing existing ocean nutrients, similar to the agricultural green revolution. It notes that the Ocean Nourishment Foundation has been set up in 2006 to study a blue revolution in the ocean. It talks about application of ocean nourishment to fishing, regulation and fisheries licences, and the environmental risks of practicing ocean nourishment.
