- Abstract
Throughout the world most municipal solid waste consist of biodegradable components. Waste management in Serbia is based on landfilling. This way of waste management in the future will be an environmental problem primarily because of production of greenhouse gases and the management of energy resources. In developed economis there are many new technologies for municipal waste management including modern recycling, composting and biological treatment with anaerobic digestion. In this paper have been investigated technical and economic condition and possibilities for constructiom MBT plant that would be an solution to the complex issue of waste management in Arandjelovac. The basic idea of the this work is that the MBT plant simultaneously realize production of energy and solves detrimental envinromental effect of waste at the Arandjelovac spa complex. Besause of the specific dynamics of waste and its morphological composition conceptual solution of MBT plant is proposed. It would fully meet the needs to the city of Arandjelovac by its concept and capacity. Based on the economic analysis of this investment, it was concluded that the realization of this facility through the energy, economic and environmental gains would be an eco-sustainable idea. Such a solution would have a significant impact on improving the environment and managing strategic resources.
