- Abstract
INTRODUÇÃO As cirurgias em geral conferem um grande trauma ao corpo humano e impactam diretamente no estado clínico e nutricional do paciente. Nesse contexto, um índice de massa gorda elevado está associado a complicações e efeitos adversos no pós-cirúrgico, incluindo disfunções cardiopulmonares, deiscência de anastomose, infecções da ferida operatória e maior morbimortalidade. Sendo assim, o objetivo deste estudo foi avaliar e classificar o percentual de gordura corporal de pacientes cirúrgicos. MÉTODOS Trata-se de um estudo transversal, realizado no período de agosto a outubro de 2021, na enfermaria de Cirurgia Geral de um Hospital Universitário no município de Maceió-AL. A amostra foi do tipo não probabilística, composta por pacientes no pré-operatório de cirurgias abdominais. O trabalho foi previamente submetido ao Comitê de Ética em Pesquisa da Universidade Federal de Alagoas (CEP/UFAL) e obteve aprovação através do Certificado de Apresentação e Apreciação Ética (CAAE) nº 47896321.9.0000.5013. Foram avaliados o índice de massa corporal (IMC), a circunferência do braço (CB) e a prega cutânea tricipital (PCT). O percentual de gordura corporal foi obtido através de fórmula pré-estabelecida que considera o sexo, a idade e o IMC, sendo classificado conforme as recomendações de Lohman (1992). No intuito de identificar diferenças entre as médias de gordura corporal segundo as variáveis antropométricas analisadas foi aplicado o teste T de Student, onde para todas as análises, foi considerado o nível de significância estatística de 5% (p≤0,05) e significância marginal p≤0,10. RESULTADOS Foram incluídos 30 pacientes, sendo 66,7% (n=20) do sexo feminino, apresentando faixa etária entre 25 e 79 anos. De acordo com o IMC, 63,3% (n=19) foram diagnosticados com excesso de peso, e 76,7% (n=23) apresentaram risco para doenças associadas à obesidade, segundo a classificação do percentual de gordura corporal. Pacientes com maior adiposidade apresentaram maiores médias da CB (p=0,024), bem como uma tendência para maiores valores de IMC (p=0,081) Identificou-se uma frequência expressiva de pacientes cirúrgicos com alto percentual de gordura corporal. Os resultados demonstraram ainda uma significância estatística da gordura corporal principalmente com a CB, parâmetro rotineiramente obtido no acompanhamento clínico e nutricional de indivíduos hospitalizados. Sugere-se a inclusão do cálculo do percentual de gordura corporal na avaliação pré-operatória, visto os efeitos da obesidade no prognóstico de intervenções cirúrgicas.
