- Title
Límites del Trabajo Decente: la precarización laboral como problema estructural en América Latina.
- Authors
Millones Espinosa, Mario Alejandro
- Abstract
The growth of labor flexibility and outsourcing, combined with economic inequality established as one of the major Latin America structural problems, create a scenario that questions the possibility of realizing the Decent Work project that the International Labor Organization (ILO) is trying to carry out. Through a study of secondary sources, this article examines working conditions in Chile and Mexico, since they are the only countries in the region that belong to the Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). These cases indicate that current economic and political structural conditions in the region (the neoliberal system) limit the Decent Work project, dragging it down to remain only a descriptive tool instead of a global objective for creating new work.
