- Title
Does Immigration Reduce Imbalances Among Labor Markets or Increase Them? Evidence from Recent Migration Flows.
- Authors
Keeton, William R.; Newton, Geoffrey B.
- Abstract
This articles discusses the effects of immigration on the job market in the U.S. based on internal migration within the country. There is a theory that immigrants take jobs away from similarly skilled native workers. The article studied the allocation of workers across markets and found that immigrants tended to gravitate to markets that could be expected to have job growth and natives tended to stay away from markets that would be attractive to immigrants.
