- Abstract
The article discusses the impact of using the placement method on the density of in vitro composite restorations of anterior teeth. Insertion of a two-paste composite system into cavity preparation is described as an important factor in cavity preparation. Three composite materials, namely, Adaptic, Concise and Compolite, were tested by inserting them in experimental class V cavities prepared in plastic molds. The effect of insertion techniques on void reduction varied with different materials tested. Concise and Compolite showed a significant reduction in porosity when injection or pressure techniques were used. Adaptic samples remained porous with all insertion techniques.
