- Abstract
The article presents a restorative procedure for the restoration of the posterior tooth. In this technique, a plastic toothpick is heated over a flame and its end is shaped into a ball. The ball is then trimmed with a conventional wedge by using a stone until the desired shape is reached. The wedge is withdrawn before the amalgam is condensed into the prepared cavity. The wedge is placed into the proximal area with the ball facing the invagination. A conventional wooden wedge is introduced from the opposite side to press the rounded edge of the plastic wedge against the matrix band in the area of the root invagination.
