- Abstract
The article provides insight into the life and work of Baptist translator Charles Bray Williams. As a boy, Williams had a habit of reading and studying his Latin book. At the age of seventeen, he was licensed to preach. As the first librarian at Southwestern Seminary, Williams catalogued the first 5,000 volumes of its library. He returned to his teaching, research, and writing, accepting a position as professor at Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where he taught from 1921 to 1925.
