- Abstract
In this paper, the accuracy of the main indicators of the FHDI Global Normal Wave Model (FHDI-GNWM) is verified by selecting the observation data of 23 representative wave buoys in the oceans over the world. The results show that the verification results of wave heights calculated with model are good and meet the preset target. The correlation coefficient between the wave periods calculated with the model and the wave periods measured at the buoys is generally low, but the distribution characteristics are highly consistent. Compared with the accuracy test index parameters of wave mathematical models by internationally renowned bodies such as NOAA, OWI, ECMWF, BMT, and DHI based on buoy measured data, the results show that all the above global wave mathematical models have better wave height verification, but the wave periods tend to have low correlation coefficient and large dispersion, therefore, the verification of wave periods needs to combine Hs-Tp scatter plot, wave period rose diagram/frequency distribution figures, etc. to evaluate the overall distribution.
